LOVE the food. Huge portions of breakfast. Great wait staff, very friendly. Crowded in the mornings but the wait is not long at all. Clean restrooms.

We went for my birthday with a party of 10. We were crushed in a very snall corner and I know I was imposing on the couple next to me. The food was unremarkable. Most of the items were tasteless. Seven ate fish, two spaghetti, and one burger. The fish and spaghetti were without seasoning but the burger and fries were good. The portions were a good size and price was moderate. Our server was really good and that helped our scores go up.

Great, great food. Service is awesome. People are super friendly and so warm in greeting you. This is probably my all-time favorite place to eat in Highland!! It’s a little “gem” and once you find it, you’ll feel you’ve struck gold. Truly amazing food, great atmosphere, and a down home awesome feel. Five stars all the way!!

Always busy, but service is still prompt. Large breakfast combo platters on the menu. I love the breakfast sandwich or getting French toast. They do have lunch entrees as well.

We went here for breakfast a few times now and service has always been great and food good we are from 200 miles away and when we are going to Highland we will. Plan on going back ! Yum .

Locally processed meats, the egg yolks are bright orange, this food is fresh and good. I'm not one for biscuits and gravy, but theirs are good! The tables have old newspapers laquered in which are interesting. Service is great. I've only had breakfast here, but it's a place I make time for when I'm in town. Thanks 9th Street!

Good food when it's cooked all the way. Pancakes are never brown.2nd review. Still hashbrowns not cooked all the way. Not even one brown spot from the grill. Pancakes not cooked all the way and flat like a tortilla.

Just your average diner with a decent breakfast

All I can say is for a family owned cafe is 5 star food outstanding. Service was awesome the atmosphere was like eating at Grandma's house! All the portions were very large for the price must try their walleye on Friday and their pies are all homemade.

Great Place to go eat. We always eat here at 9th Street Cafe when we go up to Highland, IL to visit our son, daughter in law and 4 grandson's. I recommend this place to anyone for breakfast. We have not gone here for lunch.

Great food, ample quantity and perfect waitresses. Cost is very good too. 30 for 2 meals, drinks, and desserts.

I personally love the breakfast and service here. Although the dinner's are really great also. You can't beat a locally ran business that serves products from other local businesses.

This small mom and pop place never fails to please. I love their breakfast.

This place is amazing! I got the Todd's big breakfast that came with eggs, sausage or bacon, 2 giant pancakes, and a lot of hash browns for only $7.95! I would recommend going here if you have some free time. There is usually no wait and has amazing service. I could get in and out in about half an hour! They have clips from newspapers so you can get and amazing breakfast and get to learn about Highland's great history.

The very best place I have ever been to. The food is always fresh and fast. The waitresses are nice.

A great diner in a small town. Can’t go wrong on the food quality, staff are nice and relaxing, and the small town feel permeates everything. It’s a great harken back to what restaurants should emulate in our current market.

I got the strawberry French toast with pecans and whipped cream & a side of smothered hashbrowns. This was enough for three people! The "side" of smothered hashbrowns is a full plate!The food was amazing. This is the best comfort food I ever had. The prices are unbeatable. This will be my regular go to breakfast place when I come through this town!

This is a fairly small place, we were visiting some family and ordered some of the Friday special fried fish plates, and a fried fish sandwich.I'll be honest I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The fish was flaky but firm, the batter crispy, not soggy, and the flavor was just right. I really enjoyed the meal, and the side of fries and coleslaw were very good as well. There are plenty of fries to share, and the slaw isn't too heavy with mayo. I'd be curious to try some of their other dishes, but just on the fried fish I can easily recommend this place.If we find ourselves in town visiting again, I'll be sure to stop by and get myself another great meal.

Do not come here if you're not hungry! They will fill you up, at reasonable prices. Very tasty breakfast.
